The Haves and the Have-Nots: Why Such Inequality?
(If the "way" of an Anti-shepherd is forced giving, then what is the Way of the Good Shepherd?)

Sometimes the "Haves" gained what they got because they worked harder than the "Have-Nots".
Sometimes the "Haves" gained merely because providential privilege allowed power & positions over others.

The Good Shepherd created choice not suffering, and allows inequality in this rebellious world so that those who follow Him can show His character by using any privileged position, power, & gain to help those who cannot help themselves.
In fact, Jesus said that real giving is a quiet, sacrificial cost that expects nothing in return.

In contrast below are examples of gross extravagance, some that border on the obscene:

* Churches that pool their funds mainly to build a christianized country club & entertainment center.
* Billonaires manipulating markets to make millions from their buy/sell swings that bleed others dry.
* Media "talking-heads" paid million dollar salaries as they pretend to be experts in everything.
* Secular "spas and clubs" that cater to the ultra rich and host mere token "benefits" for the poor and needy.
* Entertainment industries (sports, Hollywood, et al) that suck up billions of dollars to create virtual reality
--- They only give a tiny percentage of their massive wealth to the desparately oppressed in the REAL world.
* Politicians who have become millionaires through their public "service".
* Corporations & CEOs with policies that force employees into forms of bond-slavery.
* Hunting "Reserves" where bored rich men pretend to be tough warriors as they kill captive, defenseless animals
--- Hey guiys, why not BE real warriors and DO risk your life to rescue the weak from predatory people?
* Sadly there are countless more modern examples of similarly obscene anti-shepherd ways.

   oppress the vulnerable

I don't want your money (though I won't turn down any help).  I simply pray you will step forward and do the work that right now time and money limit my ability to do.  After a summer filled with crisis counseling helping families work through serious situations, plus numerous animal rescues rehabilitating wild animals in need, I now must focus on my science teaching responsibilities. I'll be teaching 7 classes of biological sciences for 08-09 at NCS, instead of the normal 5, plus caring for over 30 rescued wild animals, so my GSI time is very limited now. 

Yes you and your churches actually can provide counseling to over 90% of families who need it.  Also many of you have a special burden for the Good Shepherd's nephesh animals that are suffering and you have the time to help them.  Sacrifice, go for it, please!

Here in America we are providentially privileged - meaning that God has
given many of you opportunities that the majority of men and women and
children in the world do not have. Why did God allow such inequality? Is it because you are better and more worthy?

Nope! It's so that those of you who serve the Good Shepherd can prove His character to the world by sacrificially working to rescue the millions who are stuck in horribly cruel conditions beyond their control and not their fault. Remember, you will stand before the Good Shepherd one day, who is also the final Judge.

Because of my reduced available time (as well as lack of money for counseling indigent families, animal assisted counseling of abused children and adults, and rehabilitating wildlife), my GSI work will now be focused on writing and speaking to educate & motivate YOU and others to act for them. 

Please don't forget that THEIR need for help is desperate, yes even right here in America and our New Orleans / North Shore area.  I've been "swamped" down here (forgive the pun) this year with families in counseling crises, as well as animals in need of rescue and rehabilitation. 

It's hard having to turn down calls for help, but I know that you and your churches can and will now take the ball and run with it.  They need YOU. Remember, rescuing the helpless is our Good Shepherd's command.

ARTICLE: "How Animals Can Help Heal Hearts: Hurt by Predatory People"
This work in progress is almost complete and focuses on the created ability of some nephesh animals to reach beneath mere words to the hearts of children and adults who've been so hurt by abusive people that they've closed off normal channels for counseling.  Until the heart is willing to risk trusting and loving again no amount of counseling can work.

This article (slowly in the works) is expanded from one of my old seminary - master's degree - research papers and John Wesley's message on the "General Deliverance".  It includes many fun animal stories from years working with elephants and carnivores (literally lions, tigers, & bears) at the Audubon Zoo, rescuing and rehabbing wildlife, as well as "animal-assisted" ministry (i.e., counseling, education, etc) (AAM Video).
