Rights - Any discussion about human rights (slavery, oppression) or animal rights (cruelty, abuse) must first address our Creator's rights. He has the right to command how we treat both His people and His animals.

Responsibilities - Jesus said the root cause of suffering in this world is a distorted view of and/or the rejection of the true WAY of our Creator. (John 8:1-59)

Mistakes - Man's self-serving, misguided, mischaracterizations of God have historically led to personal and cultural conflict, corruption, and collapse.

Hope - Discovering the WHO?, the WHY?, and the "WAY"? of origins is the foundation for true transformation.

Change - Truly lasting change for individuals and cultures must begin at the cornerstone - the Creator of creation.

"Boatie" - Lizaboa

"Then I looked again
at all the acts of oppression
which were being done
under the sun.
And behold I saw the tears
of the oppressed
and that they had no one
to comfort them;
and on the side
of their oppressors was power,
but they had no one
to comfort them."

Ecclesiastes 4:1

What about God's right to command compassion for all of His creatures?

28 yrs writing/speaking - 100's of articles - 1,000's of files -OLD Site!

About 15 years ago, I started using the embryonic "World Wide Web" with a rudimentary website to store ministry files, articles, and presentation materials. It eventually grew into an internet resource of 1000's of files and 100's of articles. But, like many people, programs that claimed "cutting edge" capabilities were used, only to watch them become outdated, then die out as they were replaced by more "adaptable" (and usually more expensive) formats - sort of a "survival of the fittest" among web hardware and software. Finally the decision was made to back up and delete the 1,000's of accumulated site files from the old website. Now, God willing, the site can be refined, reorganized and rebuilt - hopefully into a more functional format.

Time to streamline and refine . . .

As the world changes with increasing global conflict, confusion, and desperate needs, we each must regularly reflect, refine, and refocus our efforts. Obviously the goal is always to be the most efficient and effective possible - given our abilities and disabilities, assets and deficits. The problem most of the time is that disabilities far overshadow any abilities. But there is hope for all of us:

"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men,
and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
. . . . God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise,
. . . . so that no man may boast before God.
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus,
who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness
and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written,
"LET HIM WHO BOASTS - BOAST IN THE LORD."
1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Please pray for progress . . .

Since the funds are not available to hire a web design company or "webmaster", I'm trying to teach myself CSS and Dreamweaver. So, if you run across typos, other errors, or any page with weird fonts and formatting that look like I've lost my mind - please send me an email :-)

hammock

Hopefully when the Good Shepherd Initiative website transformation nears completion in few months, than I'll be able to settle back and rest. Though it probably won't be out on a solo retreat in the swamp alone in my hammock anymore.

My shoulder joints are finally ruined ("SLAP" Tear, etc) after 35 years of carrying my kids on hikes, kayaking upstream, rescuing coons, coyotes, owls, hawks, etc.

It was fun while it lasted and soon in the New Creation I'll have a new and improved body

- plus the animals won't need rescuing anymore
