IT'S NOW YOUR TURN MY FRIENDS!
(Your turn to sacrifice for those suffering & in need.)

I don't want your money (though I won't turn down any help).  I simply pray you will step forward and do the work that right now time and money limit my ability to do.  After a summer filled with crisis counseling helping families work through serious situations, plus numerous animal rescues rehabilitating wild animals in need, I now must focus on my science teaching responsibilities.

I'll be teaching 7 classes of biological sciences for 08-09 at NCS, instead of the normal 5, plus caring for over 30 rescued wild animals, so my GSI time is very limited now.  Yes you and your churches actually can provide counseling to over 90% of families who need it.  Also many of you have a burden for nephesh animals that are suffering and you have the time to help them.  Sacrifice, go for it, please!

Here in America we are providentially privileged - meaning that God has
given many of you opportunities that the majority of men and women and
children in the world do not have. Why did God allow such inequality? Is it because you are better and more worthy?

Nope! It's so that those of you who serve the Good Shepherd can prove His character to the world by sacrificially working to rescue the millions who are stuck in horribly cruel conditions beyond their control and not their fault. Remember, you will stand before the Good Shepherd one day and He is also the Judge.

Because of my reduced available time (as well as lack of money for counseling indigent families, animal assisted counseling of abused children and adults, and rehabilitating wildlife), my GSI work will now be focused on writing and speaking to educate & motivate YOU and others to act for them. 

Please don't forget that THEIR need for help is desperate, yes even right here in America and our New Orleans / North Shore area.  I've been "swamped" down here (forgive the pun) this summer with families in counseling crises, as well as animals in need of rescue and rehabilitation. 

It's hard having to turn down calls for help, but I know that you and your churches can and will now take the ball and run with it.  They need YOU. Remember, rescuing the helpless is our Good Shepherd's command.

If you are not able to directly speak for, write for, or counsel those suffering most,
then please give financially to organizations that are, so that others can meet this priority of our Good Shepherd.

     Cruel is becoming cool, because predatory people & policies are now the norm.  Vulnerable souls suffer horribly all around us (animal cruelty leading to human abuse, rape, slavery, torture, etc). Yet, many of us are providentially privileged, having both the means and the heart to help. Please, if you cannot directly serve by counseling, writing, speaking, rescuing, or restoring those in need, then serve indirectly by giving financially to support those of us who can - for His sake and theirs.      Expenses for our internet resource website, printing, travel, “animal-assisted” ministry supplies, etc are high. I've never charged any fees, never begged, or even solicited for money, since money must not be a motive for ministry.  Over the past 25 years, our expenses have averaged $500 per month, yet donations received have only averaged $166 per month.  My family cannot continue to bear this financial burden and serve those whose need is greater than ever.

     Corruption in the UN, EU, USA, Russia, etc has convinced me to decide against forming a "tax exempt" corporation.  History, changing laws, and future political potentials demonstrate that it would limit the freedom to speak for many who are oppressed.  Remember, supporting ministries for a "tax write off" is historically a recent phenomenon.  It likely will end up being only a temporary ploy.  Surely, it should never be the motive/prerequisite for giving. 

 

Practical Action 

  • Communication: (Education/Motivation to keep people awake, aware, and assertive)
    • The most immediate way to effectively expose & address such a hidden need.
    • My limited talent seems to be communication, not administration.
      • Confirmed by feedback over 25 years of counseling/seminars/teaching/writing

      • Pictures speak a thousand words, and videos can communicate millions
        (It's costly creating and updating visual media, the website, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)
         
  • Training: (Activate = Translating information and motivation into Action)
    • Equipping others to use their talents in this service to whatever degree possible
    • Exponentially multiplying efforts to rescue and restore those who suffer the most.
       
  • Networking Groups that Agree (Christians with Christians):
    (Better cooperation for more effective results.)
    - Some Christian groups function as if they are in business competition with others.
    - Cooperation is essential to combat growing global oppression of millions of souls.
    - Proclaiming good news is central, but it's not all our Shepherd has commanded!
     
  • Bridging Groups that Disagree (Christians with Non-Christians):
    (Groups can disagree on significant issues yet agree about cruelty & protection.)
    -     Many non-Christians have endured “Christian” hypocrites and so they are reluctant to trust and work together with Church-based groups.
    - As a former New Age Buddhist, I empathize with many non-Christians who genuinely care for suffering souls around the world - both humans and animals.
     - Compassion for God's nephesh / sentient creatures is a powerful cross-cultural language.
    - Both creationists and evolutionists can agree that survival of the fittest is NOT the way human society will develop into a better and better civilization.
     


Current Operating Expenses:  Website costs, materials, costs to minister to non-Christians, poor churches, and abused or disabled counselees who have no available funds to donate, supplies for "animal-assisted" ministry, etc.   

Potential Future Opportunities:  Producing new written and visual media, Creation Retreats, re-start the radio ministry with an emphasis on our Creator’s Character and the practical application to counseling (solving “People-Problems”)
 

 
The card below was mailed out as the first time in 25 years that I've
asked for money to help cover the cost of the website, counseling poor
families, travel, printing, and wildlife rehabilitation supplies.  My
family has never received enough in donations to cover ministry expenses,
so we've met the balance from our family budget.  We can no longer to
that, so I will be cutting back to mostly writing and speaking now. 
Therefore, my friends, it is now your turn to invest your time, sweat,
money, and resources to meet the need yourselves.
