GSI is the logical and emotional convergence of my past ministry avenues and emphases in order to more effectively focus on God's priority concern. His priority is the rescue and restoration of weak and vulnerable sheep trapped under oppression by predatory people, policies, and politics.

- Our Creator's character is a Good Shepherd protector not a predatory designer of "survival of the fittest".
- Ecclesiastes 4:1 paraphrased says, "Then I looked and saw the tears of the oppressed, that they had no one to comfort them. Yet on the side of their [abusers] was power."
- Therefore, the focus of my current work is the educating, motivating, and activating of others to stop predators who abuse power/authority (exousia). This is the key to protecting powerless children, women, and men.
- The website has "evolved" over the years, increasingly reflecting this top priority of our Good Shepherd.
- Now as I travel and present seminars and workshops on family counseling, Scripture, science, etc, each presentation is designed to move participants toward sacrificial attitudes and actions on behalf of the oppressed. Unwittingly, many modern Christians, especially in the affluent West, are missing out on the most exciting and rewarding opportunity in life, which is serving as a protector. None of our modern pleasures and past times can satisfy like taking up our cross (Luke 9:23-26) on behalf of the most vulnerable of our Good Shepherd's fellow lambs.
- Church Mediation: Turning predatory survival of the fittest practices into protective peacemaking patterns.
- Crisis Family Counseling: Time constraints now limit my counseling to severe crises, especially involving individuals or families suffering from abuse and in need of an advocate, linking them to those who can rescue and restore.
- Animal Assisted Ministry: Having spent almost thirty years as both a zookeeper and my brother's keeper, it's a blessing to watch our Creator's creatures reach hurting hearts that have been closed shut by human betrayal.

  - Some Christian groups function as if they are in business competition with others.
  - Cooperation is essential to combat growing global oppression of millions of souls.
  - Proclaiming good news is central, but it's not all our Shepherd has commanded!
   
• Bridging Groups that Disagree (Christians with Non-Christians):
  (Groups can disagree on significant issues yet agree about cruelty & protection.)
  - Many non-Christians have endured “Christian” hypocrites and so they are reluctant to trust and work together with Church-based groups.
  - As a former New Age Buddhist, I empathize with many non-Christians who genuinely care for suffering souls around the world - both humans and animals.
  - Compassion for God's nephesh / sentient creatures is a powerful cross-cultural language.
  - Both creationists and evolutionists can agree that survival of the fittest is NOT the way human society will develop into a better and better civilization.

- Developed biblical , (Creator's Character Centered) “Bio-Logic” curriculums (for 7th Grade Life Science, 10th grade On-Level, and Honors Biology). These include detailed “Curriculum Guides” for the school’s accreditation package associated with ACSI and SACS, as well as scores of unit lessons in both Power Point and Word formats. All materials are maintained online for use by NCS students and have been used by teachers from around the country and overseas. The content combines Christian resources from organizations such as Answers in Genesis and the Institute for Creation Research, along with the best of secular science resources like, MODERN BIOLOGY, published by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. In addition, many graphics and animations have been integrated from various educational sites.
- Began a “Bio-Logic Club” for students and staff who desire a more in-depth study of our Creator's Character (the Good Shepherd) as the cornerstone of Christian doctrine and living. The club provides additional discussion, tutoring, field trips, video presentations, creation evangelistic outreach, and debates with theistic and atheistic evolutionists, progressive creationists, gap theorists, etc.
- Once a zookeeper, always a zookeeper, so a miniature menagerie has been maintained consisting of over 25 aquariums/terrariums and featuring over 40 animals for the study of life and nephesh relationships.
(Licensed with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, possession, and release, therefore my classroom serves as a refuge for the rescue and restoration of wildlife in need.)
- Animal Assisted Ministry: the animals (especially young raccoons, opossums, and squirrels) serve as valuable assistants in reaching the hearts of students, parents, and counselees who have been hurt by humans.

- Planted “Family Bible Church” in 1999, beginning with a home Bible study.
- This home-ekklesia eventually grew to about 80 individuals at its maximum.
- Served as a bi-vocational pastor/planter (Family Bible Church & SOULCARE Ministries)
- Due to increasing medical insurance needs in our family (especially our son’s heart surgeries), the church had to make the decision to merge with another local church - Northside Baptist. The five years pasturing one of our Father's local "families", was a wonderful, difficult, and educational responsibility. In spite of us, the Lord did wonderful things among the families in the church, through the simple ministry of His Word (preaching, teaching, and discipleship-counseling).

- Developed and directed all policies and procedures for both the counseling program as well as the 5-Level apprenticeship training program for pastors and counselors. The 5-Level Program is accessible online.

- Developed and directed ACCM through an office based in our home. Our waiting list for counseling grew to average over 40 families, which is when we were approached by First Baptist Church for a merger of ministries.

Animal Emergency Medical Technician / Laboratory-Pharmacy Manager (1981-1983)

- Lived in and worked for this large animal hospital as the emergency medical technician for night emergencies, day time responsibilities involved anesthetizing animals for surgery, surgical preparation and assistance, pharmacy and laboratory management, X-Ray technician, etc.

Carnivore Zookeeper (1979-1981)

- Officially employed 1979 (Literally lions, tigers, bears, elephants, leopards, wolves, etc).

- Learned valuable lessons about shepherding, through the training of animals (Adam, Moses, David, et al)
- Learned firsthand that God's complex creation is evidence for His power and wisdom (Romans 1)
- Later learned that macroevolution (gradual, vertical change from one "kind" of creature to a totally new "kind") is impossible, since the hypothesized mechanism (mutational errors) could not produce the massive mountain of new genetic information necessary (See Genetic Entropy, by Dr. John Sanford, Cornell Univ.)
- I resigned to travel and search for answer to the ultimate questions of life, however, I stayed in town, remaining unofficially associated with the Zoo.

A Condensed Testimony to the Lord’s Mercy and Grace

I did not have a natural grandfather to teach me the wisdom of an "elder". Instead the Lord, in His providential grace, gave me someone even better. God placed in my life a wise, African American man, Will Hall, whose character revealed that Jesus was unique. I often worked with Will on summer jobs growing up. He towered over every other man I knew, yet his greatest strength was not physical, but spiritual. He walked in humble meekness and stood strong in the face of hurtful rejection. He didn't blow up or run away, but stood strong enough even to love his "enemies" - something I could not do in my own human nature. I wanted what he had, but I refused to receive it God’s way, by submissive faith in Jesus as not only Savior, but especially authority (boss).

As a youth, I was depressed, suicidal, and bitter, searching for answers to the ultimate questions. I became involved in drugs and minimal criminal behavior. To no avail, I sought advice from secular counselors, while pursuing new age philosophy and evolutionary psychology for over ten years. This led to the pursuit of a career in ethology (animal behavior), beginning as a zookeeper (literally lions, tigers, and bears) at the Zoo in New Orleans.

Just prior to salvation, I was married for six months (1981), when my ex-wife (also unsaved) left the marriage to pursue other relationships and a life she described as “partying”. After a lengthy attempt to reconcile, I finally received a biblical divorce based on (Mat 19:9). (Please see my doctrinal statement for my position regarding pastors, divorce, and immorality.) God used the pain and brokenness of these events to convince me of my prideful sin, my lack of ability to love sacrificially, and my need for God to save me from my own nature. I questioned whether or not the Bible and its claims about Jesus were more worthy of my faith than the eastern works I had studied for years: the Buddhist’s Damaphada, the Hindu Bagavad Gita, the Koran, etc. I remember praying, basically asking, “God, if you’re real, then I just want to know who you really are and which religion is true.” The next thought that came to my mind was my "adopted" black grandfather, Will, who so amazingly exemplified the character of his Lord, Jesus. So I began a prayerful search of the evidence (Prov. 14:15; Heb 11:1) to see if God had provided objective support for the Bible’s gospel. I wanted to be sure it was worthy of rational faith, rather than mere blind belief - just mystically following subjective feelings. In a way, my hypothesis was, “If the God of Christianity exist and truly transcends space and time, then He must have provided evidence that the Bible is His Word". My subsequent discovery that hundreds of fulfilled prophecies were recorded in the Bible (detailing future events about nations, kings, and the Messiah) was used by the Holy Spirit to draw me to saving faith in the Lord.

After submitting (hypotasso, under rank) to Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior, two businessmen provided biblical, discipleship counseling. God used this to transform my depression into J.O.Y. (described by someone as an attitude of Jesus first, Others second, Yourself last). My conviction, that the Word of God is both inerrant and sufficient, was solidified by systematic study of Scripture, and is now even further strengthened by over 25 years of watching His Spirit and Word transform hundreds of other individuals and families through our meager ministry efforts.

All of my doctrinal beliefs are based (to the best of my ability) upon careful, prayerful, exegetical examination of Scripture rather than a pragmatic or subjective epistemology. I believe what I believe, because the examination of Scripture supports it (1 Cor 4:6), not because is it popular. God’s authority always overrules man’s majority.

Currently, my family and I are active members at Northshore Bible Church in Covington, LA (www.northshorebible.com). When the pastor is out of town or in need of a break, he frequently has me fill the pulpit for him. In addition to personal daily pray, Bible study, and witnessing, I believe strongly in regular family devotions and discipleship to ensure a Christ-centered, Bible-based, atmosphere for spiritual and relational growth - soli deo gloria.
